Andrea Hacker

I am a staunch supporter of open access to scholarly communication, data, and code. In the last six or so years, I’ve been able to participate in the ongoing discussion on how we, as an academic community, can best ensure the widest possible distribution of research results. I frequently give talks and workshops about these changes in academic communication, often with a focus on the roles that institutions themselves can play in reclaiming academic output.

I am the managing editor of a new, open access gold book series called Heidelberg Studies on Transculturality published by heiUP, a book series in collaboration with Springer Publishing Germany called Transcultural Research, and an open access gold e-journal called Transcultural Studies.
